Remarks: The Rumsey Ranch Retreat is a contiguous 876 acre deeded mountain terrain offering in six parcels that is located between Philipsburg and and Discovery Basin ski area in Western Montana. The scope of the landscape climbs from the lush floor of Fred Burr creek valley soars over timbered slopes to secluded private mountain parks. The Rumsey Ranch is located off the Rocky Mountain's Pintlar scenic byway loop and has quick access to the lower chairlift at Discovery Basin ski area. Historically, Philipsburg Montana was a boom town for silver miners in the late 1800's. As mining left the economy in the early 20th century large family held ranching operations and active outdoor pursuits added layers to the active Philipsburg community.
